Equal Voice National Convenings

Grantee convenings have been an important non-grantmaking strategy for Marguerite Casey Foundation since its inception in 2001. Convenings provide grantees an opportunity to collaborate, enable grantees to build stronger networks and improve their capacity to contribute to Movement Building.

2012  –  Road of Hope

Nearly 400 individuals representing 200 grantee partners and their communities came together in Los Angeles on July 22 – 24, 2012 for conversations about how to build a movement that will achieve opportunity, stability and unity for all families in the United States.  Learn More



2010 –  Equal Voice: Turning the Corner

Equal Voice: Turning the Corner presents the key lessons that came out of the 2010 Equal Voice National Convening: the Equal Voice vision, building an Equal Voice structure for action, and affirmation that through movement building, communities can achieve long-term social and economic change.  Learn More


2009 – Equal Voice Policy Convening, Advocacy, the Media and You: Change in a Time of Uncertainty 

Nearly 300 individuals reprenting families and organizations, all members of a movement known as the Equal Voice Coalition, gathered in San Francisco with an ambitious goal: Together, they would devise strategies to push the concerns of low-wage working families into the national discussion.
