“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” Hamlet, William Shakespeare.
Throughout my career, I have always believed in the power of families and stories, and those beliefs fuel my work at the Foundation.
At the core of my work is a belief that authenticity – in writing, work, and our lives – drives change. It is authenticity that connects people, and that connection and community create change.
Within the Foundation’s work towards a more just and equitable society, my skills as a storyteller – honed both in journalism and in philanthropy – help families strengthen their voice and tell their own stories. As senior writer and community relations at the Foundation, I also promote the work of the Foundation and develop relationships with partners among our grantees and beyond.
Over the last three decades I have worked as a journalist in Washington, DC, and Seattle at Bloomberg News, the Seattle Post–Intelligencer and Congressional Quarterly. I have covered social policy for more than 20 years. I have also worked with a wide range of foundations in Seattle and around the country.
I joined the Foundation in 2015.
