Chirag is Director of Energy at the Center for Public Enterprise where he works to 1) advance public options for decarbonizing and growing the energy sector; 2) promote state and local implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act's tax credits and public finance programs (particularly elective pay, GGRF, and DOE loan guarantees); 3) reform the transmission and distribution system to facilitate decarbonization; 4) study industrial policies for the research, manufacture, and scaling of advanced technologies. Chirag is a PhD Candidate at UMass Amherst. His areas of speciality as an economist include macroeconomics, industrial policy, finance, and energy.
