People’s Budget Birmingham is a grassroots movement led by everyday people building collective governance in Birmingham, Alabama.
People’s Budget Birmingham is organizing community members to pass a participatory budgeting policy through a public referendum process. They’ll use this policy as a site of tension, resistance, and imagination to continue to base-build by reinforcing the voices of those who have experienced systemic disinvestment– specifically, predominantly Black, undocumented, impoverished, and elderly communities.
