PUBLIC DOLLARs
FOR PUBLIC
GOOD

It’s time for the people’s money to be used to build the unfulfilled promise of vibrant multiracial democracy.

THE PEOPLE'S Money

Since launching PDPG in 2023, we have provided over $8M in general operating grants to fuel organizations advancing economic justice.

PDPG provides support to grant recipients organizing communities or unlocking federal funds in ways that help us all to experience and reimagine what our world could be like if our public dollars were used to build a thriving multiracial democracy.

We all pay taxes, and that money—our money—should work for everyday people to make our collective lives better. Public Dollars for Public Good funds organizations and leaders that are creating evidence of what our world would be like if our dollars ensured everyone had a home to sleep in, had access to free public transportation, lived in communities with clean air and water, and had a robust and racially integrated public education system. This future is possible if we organize to win it.”

DARE to Imagine

Dare to imagine a world with widely available public housing, dignified jobs with a living wage, and clean drinking water for all communities.

There is a massive influx of funding that could help us realize our collective dreams for a better world. Currently, trillions of dollars are being disbursed through federal programs, including the American Rescue Plan Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. It’s the funding opportunity of a generation, and we refuse to let special interests tip the scales and direct these funds into programs that cause further harm.

It’s time for the people’s money to be used to build the unfulfilled promise of vibrant multiracial democracy.

THIS MOMENT  DEMANDS Bold Experiments

What would society look like if racial and economic justice leaders had the funding to further their leadership and create transformative experiments that helped society?

Unlocking federal funding

for communities that have been denied access to it.

Organizing people power

that can ensure as much public funding as possible is moved to programs that will serve the common good.

Reimagining what’s possible

through amplifying stories about and increasing demand for public goods and public options.
